Morpheus 8V is a fast-acting and very effective radiofrequency (RF) technology combined with microneedling that provides what is medically termed intravaginal tissue remodeling. In other words, Morpheus 8V stimulates new collagen, elastin in the vagina’s tissue and musculature to improve tissue quality, comfort, and sexual drive and enjoyment while restoring a youthful appearance. The procedure can be customized to treat any part of the vulva or mons pubis.
Vaginal treatment using Morpheus 8V delivers controlled pulses of radiofrequency energy deep into the vagina and labia to tighten the soft tissue and stimulate the production of elastin and collagen. This is enhanced using the same microneedling technology you may have heard of or experienced during cosmetic dermatological treatments. Combination technology allows for two effective methods of stimulating collagen and elastin production in the vagina.
Most patients do not experience significant pain, and while there might be some discomfort post-procedure for a day or two, this is mitigated with over-the-counter pain medication like Tylenol. Some patients have mild to moderate discomfort most have none during the procedure as a topical numbing medication is used. As for downtime, most patients will need between one and three days of rest and a few days of modified activities to allow proper healing. Our patients will receive a post-procedure packet explaining what they should and should not do during this time.
The vaginal walls can become lax because of childbirth or simply aging and hormonal changes. The combination of RF and microneedling treatment that Morpheus8V offers can improve lubrication, thickness, strength, and tone of the vaginal walls. This can lead to enhanced sensation and sexual satisfaction.
The procedure also has a cosmetic component, with improvement in the vulva’s appearance. Morpheus 8V can decrease the appearance of wrinkled labia, reduce the size of the labia, and tighten stretch marks.
The treatment protocols are personalized to the patient and their circumstance. Most patients will receive one to three treatments. Results can take up to a month to fully materialize, during which patients will see progressive improvement.
